SoCalSS hosted a dinner for Scott Mueller and his twenty closest (and newest) friends during his business trip to Los Angeles in March. Many of us in SoCalSS have been helped by Scott over the Internet on Impala-related questions, and we were excited to meet Scott in person at long last.

Kevin Lindsay presented Scott with an honorary SoCalSS membership, complete with membership card, as a token of our appreciation for Scott's sharing his knowledge with all of us in the club. Kevin also gave Scott an alarm clock that sets itself to the atomic clock. Scott travels extensively on business and Kevin's thoughtful gift was very appropriate.

Scott and David Langness compared notes on a wiring diagram for the digital displays in their Impala overhead consoles—a console from an Astrovan that fits perfectly in the Impala.

What was Scott's reaction to all this?

"I really want to especially thank Kevin and Ron for organizing this dinner, and everybody else in SoCalSS for making me feel so welcome! The greatest thing about this car is all the friends I've made all over the country."

"I was a little embarrassed showing up driving my rental car, a monster sized, jellybean styled '98 Lincoln Town Car 'Executive Edition,' complete with the DOHC 4.6L motor. The suspension on this thing is so mushy I got a little seasick on the ride over, but seeing a few stiffly sprung Impalas in the parking lot cured me right away."

"They made me an honorary member of SoCalSS, complete with sticker and my own serial numbered badge. It was indeed an honor to be made a member of such an outstanding and friendly group. All I can say is that I had a wonderful time. Thanks again to all the great people in the SoCalSS group!"
